GoalMate exists because that is a poor way to buy an hour of somebody's time. Coaches publish the hours they are genuinely free, the price is the price, and the booking is done in one go.
Search by sport and location, compare coaches on price, qualifications and specialisms, then book and pay securely in one step. Sessions sync to your calendar and you can message your coach directly through the app.
There is no membership and no commitment, so a single session to see how you get on is a perfectly normal thing to book. Payment is taken at the point of booking by card, and sessions cancelled more than 24 hours ahead are refunded automatically.
Coaches are concentrated across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and the West Midlands. These are the areas with coaches taking bookings now.
A verified coach has had their identity and their coaching qualifications checked by GoalMate before their profile goes live, and has completed Stripe onboarding so payments are handled securely. Qualifications and specialisms are listed on each profile, so you can see exactly who you are booking and what they are accredited to teach.
It matters more than it sounds. Booking an hour with somebody you have never met, and paying up front, only works if somebody has checked they are who they say they are.
GoalMate takes no commission. Coaches keep 100% of the session price they set, and the platform is funded by a service fee the client pays at checkout: a flat £1 on sessions up to £25, and 4% above that. There is no subscription, no contract and no client limit, and it is free to join.
